What you'll do

As an Animal Agriculture Intern - Individual Animal Management (IAM), you will support the efforts of the IAM team with a combination of hands-on field work as well as office work:

    • Field work related to IAM (auditing feedlot systems, on-site client training)
    • Working with data: entering and summarizing data
    • Collaborate and work alongside the IAM Support teams, Veterinarians and Consultants, and other department personnel to deliver on assigned tasks
    • Maintain, contribute to, and implement departmental policies, procedures and instruction manuals.
    • Hours of work are generally 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday; but some flexibility is required on occassion to meet project specific requirements.
    • This is a full-time position from the beginning of May to the end of August.

    Learning/Professional Development Opportunities

    • You will receive training from the IAM support teams to understand office and field work responsibilities.
    • You will receive taining from the Team Lead and Consultants to develop the skills and gain experience working with data sets.
    • You will receive training from Veterinarians or Animal Scientists in areas of interest to you.

    What you bring

    • A student within a Bachelor or Master of Science degree program.
    • An understanding of feedlot production.
    • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Access.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
