The Research Field Specialist (RFS) will be a contributing member of a team that creates and implements innovative research field systems, specific to TAC's needs. What you’ll do

  • Manage and/or progressively develop research field systems for one or more areas of expertise, such as cattle handling, feed truck driving, research-related and/or study-specific field protocols, animal health management, animal welfare assessment, and sample collection.
  • Audit and/or monitor research studies, systems, training, and/or animal welfare.
  • Advance the training of other team members in research field systems using coaching, mentorship, training tools, and 1-on-1 collaboration
  • Maintain research facility infrastructure and/or manage field resources.
  • Work on a variety of projects, matching the best approach to the team's specific requirements.

What you bring

  • A post secondary degree in animal science, agriculture, epidemiology, or other relevant areas, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to think proactively and anticipate future needs
  • Possesses an aptitude for identifying gaps in knowledge and systems related to cattle research
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with the Google suite and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Professional conduct within a business environment and ability to support a culture of cooperation, inclusiveness, tolerance, positivity, flexibility, and engagement.
